Biography

Faouzi Bader, received Engineering and Laurea degree in electronic engineering-communication speciality from Université Mentouri of Constantine, Constantine-Algeria, in 1996. He received Ph. D. degree in Telecommunications in Nov. 2002 from the ETSIT of Universidad Politecnica de Madrid (UPM)-Spain. 1998-2000, he was member of the Applied Signal Processing Group (GAPS) at UPM. 2000-2001, he worked as development engineer at Massana Technologies, Spain, nowadays LSI Corporation (USA), where he was involved in the development of a Gigabit Network prototype. in 2002, he joined the Centre Tecnologic de Telecomunicaccions de Catalunya (CTTC), Barcelona-Spain, as Associate researcher. Since 2006, he is Senior Researcher Associate in Access Technologies research area (AT) at CTTC. His research activities mainly focusing on IMT-Advanced Systems, cross layer system design, spectrum & resource management, filter bank multicarrier based cognitive networks, and system level simulators. He has been involved in several European projects from the 5th-7th research framework, dealing with resource management in multicarrier transmission techniques for integrated Broadband in Cellular Systems, and physical layer for dynamic spectrum access and cognitive radio. Dr. Faouzi Bader has published over 75 papers in peer-reviewed journals and international conferences, and 10 book chapters. He served as technical program committee in major IEEE ComSoc and VTS conferences (ICC, PIMRC, VTC spring/fall), and also as chair session member (WCNC, PIMRC, VTC-Spring) over last years. Dr. F. Bader acts as reviewer for IEEE Communications Magazine, IEEE Vehicular Technology Magazine (VTM), IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, EURASIP journal on Wireless Communications and Networking, and EURASIP Journal on Advances in Signal Processing. He is Senior IEEE member, member of Communication Society IEEE (ComSoc),member of the International Association of Science and Technology for Development (IASTED), and management commitee member of EU COST action IC902.
